WEll done! After reading some of the 1 star reviews I am glad that I never saw the original so I can view this Netflix show fresh, without prejudice, and judge it on its own merits.

Captures the drama and intensity of feelings and opinions of the time and the events. I remember them--friends were being drafted and dying in 'Nam. We knew our government did not care about the lives of its citizens. Brilliant cast and script.

A brilliant mindbender of a movie!! I recall it often, though it has been years since I saw it.

'Lucifer" used to be clever and silly--a lot of fun. By the end of Season 5 it's beyond disappointing, it's moronic. Chloe apparently--somehow, we never learn why she changes so dramatically--loses her mind and her strong, spunky personality. Other than that unfortunate development, the show is pretty bad. No one seems to mind that Lucifer is possibly even more narcissistic than ever. assuming that these supposedly intelligent people, capable of solving crimes, ever figured that out previously. Three stars because it used to be fun and I used to enjoy it, but it now deserves a one.

Historical fiction with charm! I have enjoyed both the pathos and the humor of this very relatable story. Even the villains are nuanced and sympathetic. And the acting is good. I am dismayed by all the single star reviews, which seems to come from irritation about one of the characters. The strongest criticism about the show is that Varian Fry is portrayed as Gay, which some angry reviewers claim could not have been possible because he married twice and had 3 children! That is laughable. I know many Gay men who married and had children. One of them was married three times to women, had 4 children, and finally married a man as soon as it was legal. I have to assume those angry reviewers are very naive, if not simply homophobic.
