The good : I liked it! Very enjoyable movie. Lots of action. Sooo much action. Seeing all the Hashiras and Demons showing off their powers . The Infinity Castle felt alive and 3d. Great visuals and animation as expected from Demon Slayer but definitely cranked up to a 100. The plot isn’t anything we haven’t seen before but the stakes felt so HIGH. In my personal opinion, the first 1hr 30 mins is an exciting rush before we get to some pacing issues. I’ll talk about that more in the bad… The bad: about 1 hr or so into the movie, after the honeymoon phase wears off, the pacing becomes annoying and formulaic for most of the movie. “Hero fights bad guy, pause in between the fight to give sad flashback for hero and villain where you supposed to feel sorry for them, then they finish the battle, move on to next fight, rinse and repeat for majority of thr 2hr 35 mins screen time. Oh yeah, this is a long movie and you will feel it. Don’t get me wrong, there’s so much to enjoy but it also drags at some points. Maybe if you’re big fan of the series, you’ll feel right at home and it might not bother you as much. I enjoy Demon Slayer but I am by no means a fanboy so take that how you will. This movie could have have been a 4/5 for me but the predictable pacing, overuse of flashbacks, combined with its lengthy screen time made it feel like it overstayed its welcome just a lil bit. Again I enjoyed the movie but after 2 hours, I was feeling a lil jaded by the plot and ready for it to wrap up. Despite these complaints, The ending still concludes fairly well (as well as it can for a cliffhanger ending). I just wish the movie didn’t rely on its own tropes for as much as it does. Final thoughts: Demon Slayer Infinity Castle is a good movie. Definitely a must watch for Demon Slayer fans and worth checking out for anime fans in general. Tbh, it felt like a glorified 2hr 35 min episode of the show but with everything I like (and dislike) about the series but on max settings as far as animation and visuals. Don’t expect anything groundbreaking or overly impressive plot wise. If you like Demon Slayer and you’re looking forward to watching the next season, theres really no reason to not check this movie out.
