I read this book in my 6th grade English class and loved it. I love reading historical fiction and this scratched my brain just right. We read a few chapters per class and after we finished the book we watched the movie. The ending was heart wrenching but put major realism into the work and showed how horrible the holocaust was. I personally loved how the author had bruno mispronounce certain words. It gave the feel of childhood innocence and made the book more soul crushing. I highly recommend this book for kids/anyone who is learning about the holocaust, creative writing, or are interested in historical fiction. The movie was a good adaptation and also made me cry my eyes out.
