Great adaptation but read the book first - it's even better.

Best movie I've seen in ages!!!! Thoughtful, kind and funny. Consistently entertaining, laugh out loud funny, and then tears at the beautiful ending. I'm seriously dismayed, though, at the negative reviews on here claiming it's anti-religion or anti-Christian. It's nothing of the sort. (In fact, those self-righteous, "we're so persecuted" reviews sully the reputation of Christianity.)

About a half hour in I was ready to call it quits but paused to go online and check out the overall tenor if the reviews (without actually reading any of them). So overwhelmingly great. So I figured things will turn around; this is building to something; it's not just ridiculously implausible, gratuitously violent nonsense. Nope, that is exactly what it is. A Roadrunner cartoon would have been more worthwhile.

Oh, puhleeese. So bad it's ALMOST comical.

Aimless, boring, nonsensical, pointless, boring, boring, boring, boring.
