this is extremely wrong. i would give it zero stars but i cant. this movie involves ABLEISM and BLACKFACE, ableism because the main character was played by someone who DOESNT have autism, and blackface because the main character’s face was painted darker than her real skin tone in one of the scenes. this movie is an embarrassment to the autistic community. also, i think, actually i know, that this movie will put a HUGE stain on sia and maddie’s reputation, so good job. also, sia, why couldn’t you have hired. an autistic person to play the role of the autistic kid, wait you did? ohh but they were “too difficult to work with” yeah mhm. another thing, why would you force maddie to do this movie even though she didn’t want to? oh i know, because you think of her as your pet and think she will do whatever you want, and if that isn’t the case, oh well it sure looks like it. ok i think you get the gist, DO. NOT. WASTE. YOUR. TIME. WATCHING. THIS. MOVIE.
