One of the best WWII movies, especially for kids watching a War movie, with an actual historically accurate plot and events but without the attempt to show the realism and brutality of actual Warfare, as is the current trend in War movies. More like a streamlined version of the old War movies of the 50s and 60s, that still shows the horror of war without a perverse need to show guts, blood, and eviscerations up close in HD.
Great characters, smartly and tightly written, and the closest to the true relationships this old member of the Big Red One (First Inf. Division) had in the real Army while serving in combat.
