I wish somebody else had Denzel’s role. He played it too happy, not villainous enough, not menacing enough, and we had no idea what he was planning, but only because the movie didn’t do a good job of showing us. Man if he had been good that would have made the whole movie. I give this movie 5 stars because I want to change the balance. I think it deserves 4 stars. Pros: Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, cinematography, epic action sequences, wild and creative fight scenes, Joseph Quinn. Cons: Denzel Washington (had the most important role could have been much better), Lack of seriousness, including too much dialogue with no weight. Lack of continuity, Lucious has blond hair. Lack of emotional significance. Needless inclusion of gay/crossdressers to satisfy the needs of the woke. The twins makeup sucked. Obvious mistake making Lucius hate his mother, nobody thought she did anything wrong, and we didn’t even know Lucio is was gone in the first movie. Seems unrealistic for her son not to have a reaction to seeing her. Strange that his freinds rally around him to rebuild Rome, seeing as they have all just had their family’s killed by Rome. I’d give this movie an 8 on its own, and a 7.4 since the first movie exists.
