This is by far one of the most disappointing watches i have ever seen! The first joker laid the foundations for a great series. It was dark, twisted, psychological and had all the showcasing of what the joker character is about. Now this movie on the other hand is far from that! It's basically an upbeat, lively musical with a musical interlude every 10min of the movie. These musical interludes add absolutely zero value to the storyline and if anything, make it even more confusing to try and figure out what is going on. The storyline is filled with holes, and gaps that don't seem to tie into the original joker at all. Don't waste 2.5hrs of your life watching this movie. You'll have no idea what's going on, drive yourself to insanity trying to figure out the direction of the production and ask yourself "another musical?". The harley Quinn character is basically non existent and there is very little character development. Maybe that was the direction they were trying to take, to drive you insane like the joker while watching this!

Night swim keeps you immersed in the storyline and wanting more. The ending finishes rather abruptly but that doesn't take away from the rest of the film. It's not a movie that's up there with one of the greatest, but it is still a quality viewing and I would recommend it to other horror/thriller fans. I feel like it has been harshly reviewed when reading some of the lower ratings. Don't read into them and at least give it a watch!
