The performances are outstanding. Joaquin plays this dark and twisted character incredibly well. In fact, he plays it so well that at times it’ll make you feel uncomfortable just by how invested he is in the character. The combination of him and Lady Gaga on screen works very well. The film is more musical than expected, but it works for the most part. Visually it is on point too! Side note, I hope we get to see Gaga in a role that doesn’t have a musical element to it. She’s a gifted entertainer and I’d love to see more from her in the future.
