I have watched this entire series since the 80โs. As a fan watching the remakeโs Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends were disappointing. I get Halloween 3 was just a confusing and ridiculously dumb attempt to keep the series going and 6 was beyond crazy but the others were part of the story. It explains why Laurie is terrified and obsessive about him coming after her. It also shows heโs something that canโt be stopped no matter what. That was the whole thing about the 80โs and 90โs horror films like Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Thatโs how we learned about double tap. They did away with all that but the first one and recreated this scenario about her being crazy about this return for 40 years and being judged and not understood. The only thing I likes was the family aspect. They should have left the others in place for the reason she was this way, terrified and over protective. They still could have played it up that itโd been years since anything happened and that she wasnโt a loving mother instead taught her daughter how to protect herself and still had the rift between them and the husband and granddaughters relation the same as they did. The only thing that really wasnโt frustrating was the trap Laurie had set. They still could have done that and played up the fact they all thought she needed to let go as Michael wasnโt coming back. That would have been so much better. The last movie, โHalloween Endsโ, was weird like 3 and 6. Some of it could have been kept and they could have made it so much better for lifelong fans. Kind of mad. Rob Zombie did a better job about explaining why Michael was the way he was but it was much more violent, however itโs horror so their you go. Iโm sad that Jamie wonโt be back for anymore Halloween movies. I hope someone tries again later to right these wrongs and end this better.
