Warning! Movie Spoilers! Doesn't Spoil Major Plot Points, But Still Important Ones!
Okay, so overall I though that this movie was amazing. I loved the original Bad Guys movie, and was super hyped when the movie came out. I had the chance to see this movie in 3D. It was flawless! There was tons of action mixed with a bit of romance (very comical and funny), not to mention the abundance of comedy! Perfect movie for kids and teens. I took my younger brother to see it and we both had a great time. I though that this worked amazing with the plot to create this fun movie.
However, I had noticed small bumps in the plot and movie. While these do not at all affect my rating of the movie, I like to point them out and tell others what I found. Maybe you can agree with me on these! Once again, SPOILERS AHEAD! Last chance!
First off, I noticed that at the beginning of the movie, one of the random unnamed characters said a word that many of the parents at my theater were shocked to hear. It wasn't really a 'bad word', but I decided to mention it to warn parents or guardians who might not like their kids to hear these types of words.
Secondly, getting into the plot now, I noticed some parts of the plot that made me a bit confused. Now, I know its a movie, but when I watch a movie, I like to dive into the plot. My brother and I then debate about the movie. It's just fun for us.
So when the character Gov. Diane Foxington's secret about being the Crimson Paw was leaked to everyone on the internet, it went viral, and Wolf felt really bad because he accidentally let it happen. I was shocked when this happened! I thought that this would greatly affect the plot, but in reality...it didn't. For five minutes after this event occurred, it was slightly important. Wolf was guilty and was worried for Diane, because she might get fired from her government position and sent to jail. The police chief character promoted to commissioner even sent Diane a text saying 'We need to talk!'. Yikes. It didn't look good for her. But, then, that chat never happened, nor did she ever get in trouble. It didn't even affect her at all, really! Take these scenes out of the movie and it wouldn't affect it at all!
Another moment is towards the end. The leader of the main opposing force, a character named Kitty Kat, randomly snapped at the rest of the crew, after one of them wanted the special evil device shut down. Kitty attacked the other two members, causing them to turn on her. Some people think that it makes sense that Kitty did that. It did move the plot along, but there was no warning! It just sorta happened because it could. And since this type of thing is common in children's movies, they did it because it worked. They felt it was easy.
Finally, the teaser for a third movie at the end of the credits, was completely random and overall confusing! Pretty much Professor Marmalade was pulled into space while in a car, and then the car turned into...a spaceship? He then says 'It's time to go home.' and blasts of into a faraway galaxy. So...he's an alien? It was honestly confusing and random.
Alright, so I loved the movie and I am hyped for another movie! Just want to say it was good! I had fun looking for the strange moments and writing them in the review! Overall: Good Job, DreamWorks! Another fun movie!
