Ignore the negative reviews, here's a honest one So for starters the animation, im biased as I play on a switch 2 so 60 fps helps it out. The animation is so much cleaner and more consistent, characters feel less stiff and each voice line characters are gesturing, moving, actually doing something rather than standing with a blank stare. A feature I wasnt expecfing to get my attention. Next is the music, I'd definitely say its nice. Music has always been a comfort thing for pokemom games and id say they hit the mark quite well for this game too. Character design, 10/10. Argueably the best its ever been. Characters all seem unique in their own way, really clean styles. Pokemon games are practically known for their character design and this just really enforces that. Pokemon! I think the pokemon themselves look okay. I dont think they can really enhance the look of pokemon more, they just look fine. However a downside is the lack of pokemon. There's I believe below 300 pokemon whereas most have 400+. Its quite disappointing especially with the new battle mechanic Lets talk about that next, its fine. It's hard to explain, it feels like a nice idea but the execution isnt great. There's not a lot of strategy to it but that could just be me not seeing one. Not to mention the repetition of it, just spamming buttons and seeing who will faint first, I could just be not very experienced. The story is next, its okay so far. I havent finished the game and there's a lot of factors that push it like characters and such. I just wish there was more activities involving you and your pokemon, it seems like theres more talking than playing. But like I said, characters make it worth (for the first playthrough anyways). Next graphics, I know what people have been saying. Graphics from a far away standpoint is fine for a 3D game. I dont understand why people are saying it looks like 2005 when it clearly doesnt. The detail in rooms are phenominal and the artwork in buildings is amazing. However the city is really bland. Its like a maze of 2D walls. The city definitely needs more life to it and the lack of that is a let down. In conclusion, Its an amazing game. Way better than people are making it out to be. Its fun, a good first game to get into and its easy to follow. If you're conflicted to get this game, id say get it. I think its worth it.
