There's a lot of hot takes in the reviews about Gameplay balance being off. I start the game on Hard and the enemies are about what I was hoping for. They're a little bit spongy like I think most RPG players want, BUT you can easily mitigate these issues by putting time into your gear and using Magic to your advantage. Basically anything besides running at them and spamming attacks will get you through most of the game. The game great and I'm pretty sure the people giving it bad reviews are only doing so because the game openly acknowledges the existence of Queer people. Just to be clear, this isn't them "Throwing it in your face" they just exist in the world and that's TOO much for the snowflakes to handle.
