Unrealistic, overly negative, shallow, and clouded point of view on love which is supposed to be positive, good thing, with some struggles. Celine Song manages to take the good that's in life, love, and relationships and twist them to make you focus on the hardships in them.
Chris Evans is great in this movie but unfortunately the plot and the script is terrible, and he was probably one the only good parts of this film. The plot is also lost amongst many different subplots and honestly I don't know what the movie was even about by the end of the movie. It's like they tried to make a deep meaningful story where you have to search for the meaning but in the attempt to do that they lost conveying any real message.
Worst of all I feel like for a love story, love is very misunderstood. It's conveyed like a business transaction where only people that are similar can love one another, where no matter what relationships are doomed to become a toxic, unbearable trap, where you won't love the other person but only acknowledge their faults and short comings. I also need to emphasize that this movie is EXTREMELY shallow and emphasizes male height, women's weight, and the race as a way to value someone when you are dating.
If I could save myself the two hours, I would not have watched this movie.
2/10 (Only for Chris Evans role)
