who pays money to see this? I don't understand.

The lighting, set design, costuming, and directing were amazing. The acting wasn't enough because writing was abysmal. From what i can tell the actors tried their best, and they almost kept me into the series. (edit: after watching more i will say the Clock/watch Motif is actually pretty good, and is one of the only redeeming theme in the script) The script just failed in every way, none of the main characters were likable, I fully appreciate Hollywood's attempt at an original concept, but honestly the politics is so blatantly apparent it might has well have been produced directly by the DNC. There is more Ideology than narrative structure of any kind, including character development, world building, or any of the meaningful philosophical questions that the franchise is actually based on. TL;DR Everything on screen looks fantastic, but The people who wrote the script disgrace the legacy of "The Watchmen" and they wouldn't know a dramatic philosophical conflict if Ghandi threw a copy of "Mein Kampf" at their heads.
