I confess that gothic is not a genre that I normally read. But this is my 7th read of this finely crafted story. It is a mirrored drum of a tale. Histories reflect and intensify each other. Twins, loss, the boundaries between life and death ebbing and flowing. A fine story that follows Video's observation about good, mythologizing stories having a proper beginning, middle and end. Of orphans and loss- wounds redeemed and life either reclaimed or begun anew
