It's a different style compared to the previous Disney films that came before it. It's fresh and unique. The characters are adorable and are delight to watch. Even the villain is outstanding and memorable. To me, it's a masterpiece and one of my favorite Disney films.

It was pretty good. They followed the story quite faithfully and I felt quite nostalgic. The songs were done well and it was fun to watch although nothing can beat the expressiveness and liveliness of the orginal 2D animation. Their new songs were a nice addition and the romantic development between Ariel and Eric was very cute and sweet. Everything is very realistic looking, even the animals but I prefer animation more because the animals are alot cuter and expressive. If you like the 2D animation for it’s story and characters, you’ll like this one too but personally I like the painterly backgrounds and the handdrawn animation over realistic style any day.

I read the negative reviews and I can understand why. But I still liked the show. I was captivated by the artistry and atmosphere. I like the characters and thought the story was very interesting. Definitely try the first episode and if you don't like it, then it's probably not for you. I liked it from the first episode. The show feels eerie and mysterious. I won't spoil anything but you may feel that the ending is a bit weird and you will think and have more questions. But, this show has potential and I trust in the creators of this show who made Dark, to make a well thought out and mind bending series with lots of depth. I definitely look forward to season 2!
