Too much violence is shown in this old formula movie. Crushing the head with a hammer, decapitating using an axe with the head falling on the ground & torso standing errect with blood oozing out of the place where the head once stood, plucking of ear using a sickle, sulphuric acid baths giving blood curdling effect even without acid melting the human body being shown, people getting splashed with blood on their dress & many more such acts has given a new genre for the movie:Blood & Gore. How did CBFC certify this film? I saw many kids in the movie hall.
Why Tamanna appears prominently in the film poster is inexplicable (may be to draw the crowds). Regarding Kavala song, there are better dance version of the song by amateur/hobby artists on social media. Jackie Shroff, Shivraj Raj Kumar and Mohan Lal in their aging avtars do their cameos in the hope of bringing the crowds from the Hindi heartland to Kanyakumari.
The killing of Jailer's son scene reminds me of Kamal's movie "Indian" but Indian is light years ahead though it was released in 1994.
Big bad underground world is now a must with the success of KGF and Jailer's chief villian operates from this world. The underworld gives a chance of a special appearance for bulldozers.
A Jailer, even if he is from Tihar Jail, is a small fry in police echelons. The movie shows a jailer with super human powers and clout.
Rajni is looking very aged and tired of doing such roles for many years. There is no heroine in the movie. Only die hard Rajni fans can go through the ordeal of watching this movie. The main villian has done a great job though and looks very menacing. The comedy sub-plots barely register. If initial box office collection is any indication, the movie is running on Rajni 's charisma alone.
