Avoid the theatrical version and go straight to the Director's cut, which maintains some of the original's slow-burn, insidious creep of terror whilst providing slightly more depth to the antagonist's "The True Knot" as well as building a more solid foundation for the protagonists. The DC version adds more weight to the initial confrontations between both and gives one a deeper feeling of the abilities of both.
