Do not go into this expecting a true continuation of the 28 franchise. Something has gone wrong here. In an effort to be different, the filmmakers have strayed too far from what made the first two films so loved. I understand Danny Boyle wanting to try something new—but why choose this franchise to experiment with? It's baffling and, frankly, disappointing. As a long-time fan of the 28 series, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this film for years—even before it was officially announced. I was genuinely excited to see Danny Boyle return as director, but what we got feels more like a standalone zombie film than part of a beloved saga. There are times to innovate and times to stick with what works. In this case, I believe they should have honoured the original formula.
