4.5 stars I don't understand why I've seen so many reviews saying that this is "propaganda" or "supposed to be a love story" because I never got that impression from the trailer. I liked this movie a lot, I thought it was funny and touching and a great story. I didn't go in with a lot of expectations except having a good time, which I absolutely did, and I walked out feeling happy and empowered and like it was a very thoughtful movie that was just the right amount of poking fun at certain aspects of society. There were some parts I could have been stronger, but I think people saying this has been a fail from Gerwig are missing the point a bit. I encourage everyone to watch it and find out for yourself what you think, don't read the reviews because i find they're either obnoxiously negative with no positives at all, or really positive with no critiques! Barbie can be anything, and everyone can have their own opinion. ♡
