I have played the Destiny saga for 10 years now, first owning the game in 2014. The culmination of all the time and effort put into this series falls flat and was extremely underwhelming. The lack of narrative risks taken and the lack of depth the antagonist had made none of our actions feel meaningful. The story was cliche and every point of conflict or emotional investment had such weak payouts that by the end I found myself running through the campaign more like it was a tough strike rather than a truly meaningful story mission. As of right now the final mission has yet to be released however, it is extremely unlikely to change my opinion. The first four missions were boring and bland and then the last 3 had the opportunity to make it great and yet avoided doing anything new or different. Gameplay was fun as always but less challenging than the Witch Queen. I recommend buying the DLC however I will not be playing the episodes (new seasons model) as this DLC has given me 0 reason to feel revitalized about the series.
