I'm rating this movie low with two stars for a few reason. I'll keep this short. Anybody who is a fan of Woody Allen, watches his films for a few recurring reasons: neurotic, main male character, witty dialogue, plot twist. The problem I had with the film is I couldn't get pass the young characters. It's the 2020s, and I just did not believe today's young people talked and acted like that. Those characters appeared to channel the thoughts and actions of a 70 years old, man. I haven't been to New York in twenty years and I'm not wealthy. But it made me question if New York and the wealthy are devoid of modern times. No satisfying plot twist. No payoff that the male character got the true girl in the end. This might have worked if the setting were the 50s or 70s, but not today. Unlike some of the commenters in here, my criticism of the film is not directed or motivated by his personal life. In fact for many men, the hook of Woody Allen films is the length an otherwise undesirable man will go to attract women. It's just this time, and for me the only time, he did not win this one.
