This show is an atrocity. Nobody watched 700 episodes of Naruto for a time skip to the future so they could see what a failure of a parent Naruto became.
We never get to see him even graduate from a genin. 700 episodes of this guy training his butt off for entire arcs at a time, talking about his dream of becoming Hokage, and it skips to him run down and exhausted, not having grown stronger or mastering/developing any new jutsu at all. Every other hokage managed just fine without relying on 1000's of shadow clones to do their job. I would've loved to see him grow into a jonin and eventually hokage, but the new writer couldn't get rid of Naruto and Sasuke fast enough.
For example, a new power that Kurama has kept hidden for the entire ninja war? One that allows Naruto to beat the snot out of anyone in exchange for Kuramas life? He kept his mouth shut about that and was going to watch the world end? Bull!
Then there's the entire environment that the show takes place in. Their peak technology in Naruto was TV, recording devices and communication equipment. Now we've got sentient AI robots that are omnipotent. It's so far removed from the idea of being ninjas that it's just dragon ball z at this point.
The straw that broke my back was watching himawari inherit Kurama and fire off a tailed beast bomb immediately. She's not even a genin yet and we are left to assume she has 0 training. On top of that she repairs a gaping hole in Inojins chest, something Naruto never even thought to try with Neji dying in his arms.
The fourth hokage was a genius and it took him 3 years to master the rasengan, and the reason he created that jutsu was to help Kushina master the tailed beast bomb. Naruto had the rasengan and guidance of killer bee to master it. But she just ups and fires one off without ever seeing it done or hearing about it before..
The show clearly has no influence of Naruto and Naruto Shippudens writer and is just a money grab. I wanted more when Naruto Shippuden ended but this show is pathetic. The only thing it has going for it is some of the fight scenes and battle soundtracks that can occasionally draw you in. With the developments in animation, this show had serious potential. It's a shame.
