From my experience the best way to describe the game is that it has a lot of really good ideas a lot of them, but doesn't stick the landing on any of them.
The biggest issue is that we have a similar open world Pokémon game that came out this year to compare to (Legends Arceus), and its a shame to say that the main line game was way inferior to the side series game in comparison.
