After having read the book Murder at the Vicarage, I wanted read more of Miss Marple stories. It had a relaxed rural setting, in fact with a sketch of the village. That was simply excellent. “Moving Finger” was disappointing. Dull starting (that is okay in a way) but it was too slow. Very boring narrative. A perplexing teen age giving an impression of retarded, Too many brother sisters, wagging village tongues, anonymous letters confusing the plot. Miss Marple had a negligible presence, though walking away as the prime solver of the mystery. The revealing of the mystery, is some what lacking conviction. One does not feel it necesssary to read last couple of chapters. On the whole a dull story.
