If I could, I give "Seven Seconds" a perfect 10! Why because all the Actors in this Series did a fantastic job! I couldn't help but get entangled emotionally and intellectually in this Story. As the story unfolded, I tried to analyze and predict KJ, D'Angelo, Jablonski, and others role in this film. KJ, unfortunately your character role upsetted me the most because you were fraught with weakness. Over and over, you kept giving up the fight and if it wasn't for the powerful role of Fish; you would have never won your case. Without Fish; you would have not risen to the battle and won; but instead wallowed and been consumed by sex and alcohol. So I thank the writers for the role of Fish because he is the hero in this film along with Brenton's mother. Great job you guys for OUTSTANDING acting. Not only did this film reminded me of the problems that plague this World in Government and Society; but it also taught me despite my feelings and thoughts that I or maybe someone else is a victim of racial profiling; unless, I have sustaining proof that this crime was committed based on race, gender, etc; stick to the "Facts" of the case. As it is portrayed in light of the "blindfold" around Liberty's eyes; our Justice System is only interested in the Facts. Everything else is circumstantial. KJ should have understood that and eliminated the "race" card to get a guilty plea. Her father tried to counsel her on the flaws and weaknesses in her case argument; but she would not hear of it and blamed him for her feelings of insecurity and fears. Although, her father was briefly on stage; nevertheless, he left me with thoughts and feelings of pride in our Black men. Just looking at his tall slim well-dress stature alone commanded my attention and respect. Listening to the gentle loving care and concern for KJ in his voice touched my heart because most fathers regardless of color don't do a very good job at communicating warm loving feelings towards their children especially after their child begins puberty. In reality, most fathers mind set in raising their children; especially male children, I must be tough (hard) on them so that they can grow up strong. In some ways tough love is the answer; but if not tempered and balanced with gentleness it only produces hardness and not wisdom. Nevertheless, it is "no small" achievement for Black men to achieve success in a "white" dominated World. So I thank the writers, producers, directors, and every one involved for giving the "Black Man" a role of honor. Self-respect, vision and most of all "intelligence". I am so tired of seeing "Black" men in film who only sings and dance and tells jokes, and frankly, much of the jokes insults my dignity and intelligence. Thanks guys for giving me the opportunity to express myself because I am looking forward to seeing KJ stand up and conquer her demons. Speaking of demons, thanks for the song "Love and Hate" that alludes to demons representing human weaknesses. You Guys did an OUTSTANDING JOB!!! I HOPE You Win the "Academy Award" in creativity, design, storyline etc. So don't take forever to produce Season 2 and maybe 3 and then more...Good luck!!!
