I was conflicted about seeing this movie. During the Reagan administration I was watching my close family member die from HIV/AIDS and the government response was insanity, massive homophobia. Drs refused to treat patients, and the administration called it the “gay plague” and made jokes. Grassroots movements supported patients and gained funding. 42.3 million have died globally from AIDS. No one talks about it. It was only a blip in the movie. I gave it four stars because the acting and production were quality. And Reagan was a human being that had his good and bad like us all. I was reminded that we did have peace and the achievements he accomplished meant something. It’s taken forgiveness to get to this point for me. I’ll never forget that time. Resting in peace, Kevin Kelly.
