Fatima Hassouna had a very beautiful story to share with us and did it in her amazing unique way. She shines in her incredible passion of life and her regard towards hope, something that no one could take from her even by exploitation of her lived experiences.
The colonial approach of the director is visible althrough the process of making this documentary. She could take a much more human and creative perspective to reflect on different aspects of Fatima's life to build up a more meaningful relationship with her and understand her positionally instead of closing the doors of any deeper connection by constant disruptions or pushing her own trauma into the conversations.
I will never forget Fatima's beautiful smiles and her strong inspired personality. She will always breath inside her artworks and through the simplicity of her strenght, but this movie didn't see and respect this colorful soul at all.
The 5 star is for Fatima that couldn't live to see end of the geneside ... who knows?! Maybe she was alive if it wasn't for this film ...
