Eddie Murphy reprises his role as Axel Foley in an attempt to bring back the magic of the BHC franchise. Unfortunately there isn’t much more than tired folks, tired lines and actors that should be retired. Still, I found a few moments that were funny and appreciated that it had the original music from the earlier movies. I was aching for a movie like this reprisal, but its overly obvious plot and lack of complexity left me wanting more. This movie needed an injection of vigor and freshness, but came off stale for me. It’s probably worth watching however, as some folks really enjoyed it. I’d give it a 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.
