Ealeough

Welp. I am a pretty big Tolkien fan. As such, i can say that the Rings of power, should never have been made. This is just amazon trying to cash in on all the "franchise-frenzy" of star wars and marvel. the world of middle earth, is not a franchise, and i hope it will never be. A huge problem with this show is that the writers dont seem to have heeded any of Tolkien's writings on characters. for instance, Lady Galadriel is NOT a warrior. she never was. instead she is the wise, magic using lady of the woods of lothlorien. just an altogether great character, AND strong female character, if thats what your into. but no, that wasnt enough for amazon. they decided that there wasnt enough "representation" in Tolkiens works, and they needed to change galadriels character into a warrior queen. An amazonian if you will. heh. sorry. But heres the thing i am truly baffled by. the lotr was written in the 1930s, and it had awesome female warrior characters. ( think arwen and eowyn) these characters were amazing, and even by modern standards were strong female characters. But amazon had to disregard all of that, and change an existing well written much loved character to fit with modern expectations. still though, the cinematography was great, and i did like it quite a lot, despite these problems. well just have to see as it plays out. thanks for reading, and just remember, i dont mean to offend anyone, i just believe that amazon is to preoccupied with modern day expectations than with honouring one of the greatest authors of all time and his beautiful creation.

Okay. Heres the deal. We can be Heroes has so much good, but also so much bad. im going to do a full character breakdown for you, so you can see the pros and the cons. Here we go: 1. Missy. okay this is the main character, and unfortunately, shes not great. in the beginning she has no powers. so, we naturally assume that she will find out her powers as the movie progresses. halfway through the movie. no powers. end of the movie. no powers. me frantically looking for an post credits scene to find out her powers. no post credit scene, no powers. Sigh. 2. Guppy. okay. i actually liked this character. you dont see many children this small with powers in films. (except jack jack.) her powers are original, and well made. that growling part is the only bad thing about her, but its only one scene. a well made character. :) 3. Face maker. His powers dont make sense,and is a clear copy of shape shifters(like mystique). poorly designed character, poorly designed powers. 4. Slo mo. Im not sure about this kid. hes clearly powerful, he managed to take out one of ojos drawing beasts simply by punching it repeatedly. however his "power" is more of a curse, in that it makes him extremely slow. original powers, but a very confusing character. 5. Wheels. this guy is CONFUSING. apparently hes so strong his legs would break if he stood on them. he therefore has to use a wheelchair to get around. a fine character, he just doesnt make sense. 6. A Cappella. shes a fine character with original powers, but she spends a lot of her time singing annoying songs during battle. if u can call it battle. :( 7. Fast Forward and Rewind. rewind has good powers. he can basically go back in time and change the past. one very overpowered super hero. unfortunately, his twin, Fast forward isnt as powerful. she mainly just speeds up slo mo, when hes fighting. and ill have to write about the rest another time.
