I saw this film on the tv (Midnight Movie I think?) in the 1970s as a young man. I was mesmerised by both the acting and the genre. Showing how mankind, when necessary, can survive in fraught conditions. In my opinion, one of the all-time great films. Also, I rate RR very highly as an actor.
