The game is alright. I've been playing Pirahna's games since gothic I. It feels very good to return to a game with the soul of Gothic.
Nevertheless, I feel that content is lacking. I have an impression that devs made final chapters in a rush. They are simply "go there kill that" type of quests with hoards of enemies.
Some crucial story moments aren't explained well. It's a pity since I love this genre mostly for its interesting story twists. Almost none are found in Elex 2, or at least, there were none that I would remember.
Magic simply sucks.
Otherwise, the game is alright. It kept me occupied for a decent number of hours.
If the last chapters were also filled with content, interesting story twists, and some decent quests, the game would deserve a 4 or 4.5-star rating. Otherwise, it's 3, max 3.5 stars for me.
If you're a fan of the Gothic series, it's worth buying it. Oh, and it's a decent upgrade compared to Elex I.
P.S. Caja ignores a very important twist in the story. It sunk my immersion to the lowest depths. Pirahnas, I really hope you'll implement some improvements in the game!
