trash can movie
I recently had the chance to view the white wolves film production movie, A Cry In The Wild which is a movie based off of the award-winning book Hatchet. A Cry In The Wild is a family drama type movie that was published on the first of June, 1990. This movie was directed by 18-time award winner, Mark Griffiths. This movies stars: Jarred Rushton - Brian Roberson & Pamela Sue Martin - Mrs. Roberson.
The plot of the movie A Cry In The Wild begins with Brian Roberson & his Mum in the store looking for a hatchet and eventually buying one as a souvenir for Brian. After Brian and his mother have bought the hatchet they go to the Airport, where Brian has to catch a flight to go and see his divorced father in Canada. During the flight, the Pilot teaches Brian how to steer the plane. During the flight the pilot also, unfortunately, has a fatal cardiac arrest and passes out, soon the plane starts to ascend. As the plane begins to ascend Brian starts to panic, but after a while of overcoming his fears, he eventually gets a grip and grabs a hold of the steering wheel. But after a while of cautiously steering the plane it ran out of fuel, then plummeted into the lake of a small island, Then Brian miraculously swam out of the almost fully submerged plane.
Over the days Brian is on the island, he finds out how to hunt/find food, create his shelter & defend himself. After the very, very long days, Brian eventually gathers up the courage to go back in the plane and get the survival kit, turn on the Emergency Ariel and get rescued.
One thing that I picked up during watching the movie is that there isnโt much talking. I think that there isnโt much talking because he is the only one on the island. So this makes the audio of the movie consist of grunts, sighs, moans, and screams, which can get very repetitive and boring.
In my opinion, the message of the movie A Cry In The Wild is about not giving up and persevering thought though times. I think this is the main message because when Brian got stranded on the island he didnโt just give up straight away, instead, he got up and looked for food. This shows how much Brian wanted to live.
A Cry In The Wild is appalling compared to its book hatchet. My reasoning behind this statement is because the emotions can not be empathised in the movie as well as the book does. Also, the book describes the animals and soundings so well and the movie can not live up to that.
The scene that I enjoyed in the movie A Cry In The Wild was the scene when Brian felt guilty for killing the mother of 2 young, baby bears. This scene wasnโt my favourite because the Mother of the bears died but rather because I felt so sympathetic for the baby bears. This scene was also my favourite part of the movie because it was the only part of the movie where I felt like I connected with something. Apart from that the rest of the movie has really poor acting, with emotions that couldnโt properly be portrayed like the book. A Cry In The Wild also had some disappointing special effects. For example: When the Mother bear got stabbed by Brian the โbloodโ looked like red, cold, runny raspberry juice. I recommend this movie to people who donโt like action and want a relaxed movie to watch with their family. In my opinion his movie has a lack of emotion and good acting, hence why I rate the movie A Cry In The Wild a โฆโฆ.
