Dumbest hunting game ever made. People talk about the beauty, but itโs only beautiful for a low budget game. To be fair, the one thing I can give it a positive for before I point out the negatives, most hunting games are bad. This hunting game still, is one of the worst out there.
In an effort to capture the patience of hunting in a game, the devs made sure the hunt is a difficult thing. However, since they were unable to make and intelligent AI, they made your weapons worthless. Seriously, think of hunting big game with pellet rifles. Since the animals are idiotic and you can easily take advantage of the broke AI, you can consistently get within 10 yards of your kill. Or maybe I should say your victim, because when you pull out your high caliber hunting rifle and scope in for the vital spots, you pull the trigger to get a report of the animal barely bleeding. Seriously, my family has a long history of hunting, I know where to shoot a deer. However, after 5 shots, ON THE SAME DEER, to vital organs, and it just causally bantering off, you figure you should try a different location than the mid torso just behind the fore shoulder blade. So you try the neck. No luck. This game has no recognition of anything other than a flesh wound, unless you hit the animal in itโs own deemed vital organs. Even then, you will never get an instant kill. Seriously! I put 50 caliber into a rabbit, and it just wandered off.
It all boiled to me sneaking 5 yards away from a moose, and 12 gauging it twice in the neck. 5 YARDS! Literally, itโs head was hanging by a thread. Oh wait, no. It wandered off, and the game told me I gave it a flesh wound. Reported. 1 Star.
TL;DR Low budget forced the game to cheat the Player because animal AI was so bad, and it would be too easy if the weapon interactions were realistic. Therefore, youโll be only frustrated when you take the perfect shot only to find the animal unphased.
