The NewsHour (12/29/20) segment on avoidance of healthcare due to the pandemic did not note that many U.S. citizens have avoided or simply lacked care for decades because of poverty. No other developed country in the world has this malevolent system. PBS, is this an incidence of the Overton Window?
The next segment neglected to note Venezuela sits on one of the larger oil deposits in the world. The oil can not be sold due to massive U.S. sanctions. As is usual in Latin America, the wealthy control the politics. Chรกvez broke the pattern with the support of his indigenous, poverty supporters. Of course, the wealthy of the U.S. can not allow this abomination to succeed. (See Allende and the CIA in Peru.) The poor and what remains of our diminishing middle class here at home, might start to get upitity ideas. Overton Window?
