Thank you for bringing women in their 40s - 50s into the spotlight. There is a wealth of wisdom to be found in this group, and you tackle modern topics with tenderness and humor,
which adds to the courage found in this series. Gretchen, Sandra and Jerry are smaller roles with a lot of dimension. They bring out the better selves in the main cast, and still have fully developed character roles of their own. The child actors bring hope and promise to the show, among their collective parents who are true to the title, on the verge of change. Change is messy and funny and raw and real. These quirky main characters make you love/hate/love them all at once, and it seems effortless. The European influence (addressing and exposing humanity's depth with ease and grace), juxtaposed against the SoCal landscape is refreshing and fun. I thought the 1st episode had its problems, but these characters are wonderfully real and rich with a talented cast. I want more.
