If you like comic book based television more than you like comic books themselves, at least in general, then you will love this series. I do. I’m interested to read the books as well but I am pretty sure I’ll prefer this. If it feels a little more mainstream, a little more digested for a larger, more diverse audience than to whom it was initially intended, that was surely the idea and its appeal is undeniable. I do think Ellen Page overacts a little bit, and I love Castañeda’s Diego but some of the writing for him is truly terrible, but these kinds of things come with the territory of a hokey, dopey show about superheroes, and I eat it all up anyway. Five stars!
