A very mixed bag. Confusing storyline, half the time I didnt know exactly who was who. The end is completely unresolved. Some great acting and a few great episodes, but on the whole a disappointment. I cant recommend, so unless the producers carefully edit the whole series to 75% of ts runing time - which obviously isnt going to happen. Pity, it had real potential. 3.5 marks out of 5. 4 at a push.

Started watching first series, despite good performances and cast, I am getting increasingly annoyed with many aspects of the plot, which are frankly stupid, silly and annoying. Namely the white-suited, non speaking smokers. Quite daft. I may try to watch more, but it's really getting on my nerves. Why introduce such an odd cult with these strange behavioural patterns. I'd rather something believable, even though I know the plot is a supernatural affair.

harrowing, darkly funny, with all round exceptional performances.

The first two episodes of Series One, were watchable and I was hoping that would improve. Sadly the writing became stilted and pedestrian, unfunny and ultimately disappointing. The episode featuring the silent retreat was embarrassingly bad. The acting however was excellent throughout, but with such a poor script to work with that meant for nothing. I can't recommend despite so many good reviews by others. Series Two is supposed to be better, let's hope. Recommend Doctor Foster series one, for anyone looking for dynamic writing and acting. Exceptional. Forget Fleabag...
