Update: Had some more enjoyment playing ot casually with my girlfriend... But that is it. Torrent the game, don't pay for it. It ain't worth 50 quid. And if you wanna play a good game go play some fan games like Pokémon Rejuvenation. 20 hours in and I'm not impressed to be honest. The game itself a Ni No Kuni clone and that game came out how long ago now? I have been enjoying it in places, great sense of nostalgia (that can't carry a flagship game for a decade). The combat was a nice change from turn based battling, but it does just feel they went 'yep that's different, moving on lads.' Catching Pokémon is fun for a while, until the same side quests pop up over and over again... The variation doesn't move much from 'catch this gender, and catch this colour.' Performance wise, how in the holy heck do they not have the money and the capability to make a game that doesn't feel like it was made in the 2000s. The FPS is terrible on switch and PC, and the draw distance can be worse than GTA San Andreas with fog on. To me it feels like this game is an alpha, yet you're paying the full 50/60 pricetag. I won't be surprised if they slap a heck ton of DLC on it either. To wrap up, this game is a good step forward in to what the Pokémon franchise can be with the switch... But arguably this is just the DLC for Sword and Shield with more areas. Update: Just finished the main story and... Eh. Just eh. Let's see what the post game has in store🤷
