I’m a huuuge fan of the original and this show just doesn’t give the same magical feel as the original. A half sister was only introduced in the original because a sister was killed off. There was no need for a half sister in this show. The new whitelighter effect is obnoxious. The orbing felt like it fit white lighters more. In 2018, one could imagine that special effects would be better than that of the late 1990’s- early 2000’s, but nope, the effects are awful. The original’s special effects were much better. It feels like the writing for the reboot is sloppy and rushed with no thought put in at all. I also feel like the characters say things like “woke” to appeal to younger audiences and it just comes off as cringy. I’m a feminist and it feels like they’re trying to push feminism in such a ridiculous way that it loses the point. I barely got through the first episode because it was THAT bad. If you wanna pick up Charmed, go for the original, you won’t be disappointed in that
