Reading some of the other low reviews, it seems like some viewers were confused. It's about Pricilla's point of view. Some people on here seem to think it was supposed to be more Elvis. It's known that the movie wasn't allowed to have Elvis's songs in the production but some of the viewers must not have known. They thought they were watching another Elvis movie. It was okay. I didn't care for the casting of Elvis and the chemistry wasn't there. I didn't like the abrupt ending. I did like the casting of Priscilla, showing her side, clothes ect. I didn't like the abrupt ending. One review from someone who read the book the movie was based on said that it was pretty accurate. A couple of things mentioned is that she actually got a black eye from Elvis and threw a chair that hit her in the face were softened up a bit. That was a smart move I suppose otherwise the movie would only been seen as her waning people to hate him. Though the abuse was never okay. Just ehh I guess. I wanted more I think??

Austin Butler did an amazing job!! He did all of his own singing until late in the movie when his voice was mixed with the older Elvis's voice. Austin actually played the instruments too. Tom Hanks did a great job too! Seeing Time Hanks as a slimy character was strange but as with any roll he did a great job. It was great to learn where his musical roots, sound, and inspiration came from. It was sad to see he was in the worst hands possible.

I can't even recall how many times I have watched this movie. It's fantastic how a movie that is so incredibly long can keep anyone's attention. I did read some "reviews" just out of curiosity. It's easy to have an idea as to how old the viewer was. It goes without saying world has changed since 1994. There are so many expert critics these days. Everyone seems to be the all knowing. Weather it's listening to actors for political views as a guide to follow in our lost ways, or critiquing one of the best actors of all time in the arena they should be valued for. The world has changed. This movie of corse is strictly for entertainment with history scattered throughout. It does show how the world has changed in positive ways. One of the unfortunately many negative ways the world has changed is people are willing to be more critical of an actor or public figure's performance than their off screen presentation of themselves. One review mentioned how Hanks could have done better with the character's range of expressing emotion... To my knowledge there hasn't been a formal diagnosis as to what causes Forrest to be "slow" as said in the movie. He does have some tendencies that correlate with autism or spectrum disorder which include lack of emotion or emotional expression. Hanks is the only actor that could have played Forrest Gump. He really went with the missing of social cues and innocent awkwardness of his character flawlessly. Over rated? Not enough witchcraft or vampires for you?
