I was a bit unsure of the show at first but by the second episode I was hooked. The energy of the show brought back memories of the earlier seasons of RPDR and the queens were all very loveable. This is not exactly like Ru Paul's Drag Race because it is Canadian, there's no Ru Paul and they did things a bit differently. I didn't think it would be any good with out Ru Paul but I was surprised that it succeeded. I was disappointed he didn't show up by the final episode. While I liked the more democratic approach to the judging, I didn't always agree with the results. However, the final 3 were the ones who deserved to be there. I just hope that the standouts of the season one day get a second chance on All-Stars. There was comedy, drama, shenanigans and a truly Canadian quirkiness. The lip-syncs were fantastic. Canadian queens do not mess around. I sincerely hope the overblown negativity around the judges doesn't affect the chances of there being a season 2. Just when I thought I was growing tired and over saturated with Drag Race, Canada's Drag Race reminded me why I loved it so much. I felt that it showed the rest of the world that while Canada is often in the shadow of the much more glitzy and impressive USA we still have something to offer and to say. We just do it differently.
