Gritty black comedy meets gacky YA show. Sadly the YA is winning.

I've read the books but completely accept that books and TV are completely different mediums. As such, I wasn't expecting a faithful adaption of the source material. I can forgive the replacement of exposition with action. In fact it was probably nesessary. However, even ignoring the differences, the show is poorly plotted, the characters are one dimensional and their reactions implausible. Common sense seems to have devolved in the far flung future. They also seem to be blind to even the biggest changes in the environment. Generally the whole thing doesn't seem to hang together in any real cohesive way. I will continue to self-flagilate myself watching this to the end of the series as rubbish Sci-Fi is better than no Sci-Fi but honestly it's really hard work.
