This game was pretty disappointing. The combat was super janky (but sometimes, that kind of made it better), it had so many good ideas, but the whole game just wasn't very good. For a debut game from a company of 15 people, this is a good debut, but all in all just a kind of mediocre game, the bosses ranged from ok and balanced, to broken. Re-hashed enemies in every area, having to find items to switch your weapons and armor are some of this games bad things. The best things about the game are definitely the combat and tone, parrying and hardening were very fun to use, and the game just feels odd and shrouded in mystery (which I like a lot). If I was to rate the games combat it would be a 4/5, but a downside is that it is very repetitive combat that doesn't really change much and there is one particular shell and weapon combo that makes the game a huge pushover. The way you get new weapons is pretty cool, the way you can change your riposte after parrying is pretty cool. Writing this review has made me reconsider and now I will give it a 3 because the game has a lot going for it, but big aspects of the game just don't work that well. So basically this game summed up is a slightly mediocre soulslike that has some really good ideas, but also some really bad ones. If the combat sounds cool to you and you're ok with some of the things listed above, check this game out, it might be right up your alley.
