I read of the many negative reviews and almost let this one go at the cinemas. I am glad I didn't, took my family of four and we all walked out happy with the show.
It is a rom-com, so the story line is somewhat predictable, but both leading actor and actress brought freshness to the scenes and I felt they had good chemistry between them. The plot had a good twist, which most would probably figure out midway, but still the ending played out well and stirred the right emotions.
The rest of the supporting casts were... well... for support and they were fine. Emma Thompson was funny, we all know Emma isn't an Eastern European, but the hall burst out laughing whenever she sings in that quirky accent.
I really don't understand many of the critics, how can this show not fit the bill of a romantic comedy aired during Christmas? Walk in expecting that and you will walk happy with the show. The beautiful London backdrop is an added bonus ๐
