Made it all of 3 minutes into the pilot. Researching jokes does not make them funny. Cartoonish representation is not representation. This show feels like it's making itself too familiar with both Afghanistan and America's cultures without understanding or respecting either. Made ten years too late, with no teeth and a saccharine heart. Weak sauce.

The first episode was okay and the acting is good but every episode could have been told in about half the time. It's SOOOO slow and boring. How many painfully long cuts do you need per episode? One per season is more than enough. Long shots convey meaning when they're used effectively, otherwise it just makes me feel impatient and I want the chance to enjoy it. But there's not enough opioids in the world to slow me down this much, not for 8 hours. Can't do it.
