Spoilers One could argue that previous Matrix films were even better than their previous installment. This, in my opinion, is not true of The Matrix Resurrection. I could go back and watch the other films over and over again; I do not feel the same about this movie. Throughout the first 30-40 minutes of the movie, I couldn’t stop wondering why they have these younger and new created characters to play Morpheus and Agent Smith… I would have much rather liked to see these new characters be just that…new characters. Having them play iconic characters that we’ve grown to love while neither having the same impact on the role, nor ever providing enough justification to the viewer on why that was even necessary, was a TREMENDOUS let down. The fighting scenes are in no way as memorable or iconic as any of the other movies. Even the big fight at the end of the movie was a little lack luster. I get it… the main characters are much older, but you don’t even see anything amazing that came from the fights involving the other young new characters either. How the movie ended…how Trinity and Neo were just floating in the air…and then all of sudden get unplugged…and then re-plugged in to visit The Analyst… yeah that all seemed disconnected and rushed which made for an awkward ending.

This movie had so much potential, but it failed to meet the level of greatness the first Venom achieved. Venom: Let There Be Carnage has a great cast of actors and actresses, and the story line seemed to be good…just poorly executed. The movie attempted to have depth, but it was often awkward and disconnected. Some of the scenes with Venom and Eddie’s interactions at the beginning of the movie were too long and not as funny as I’m sure they had intended. Finally, by the time Cletus becomes the host for Carnage, they [Carnage and Venom] all of sudden are gearing up for their short-lived movie-ending battle.

I love Gal Gadot, and I think she plays an incredible Wonder Woman; however, WW1984 did not live up to or even come close to exceeding the level awesomeness of the 2017 WW film. The plot was all over the place, and the tension between WW and Cheetah was not well established....among other glaring issues that I do not care to explain at the moment. The action was subpar, at best. WW is a unique superhero and the film downplayed her abilities. Although there were sparks of great action, those moments were short lived. Hopefully, the writers of the first WW, namely Zach Snyder, will return as a writer for the third installment, if another WW film is made. Also, DC should get their pride out of the way, and take a page from Marvel's playbook by having their super hero films tell a story that can ultimatley be connected to a larger storyline that beautifuly plays itself out in a Justice League film. Shrugs.
