The overall concept was to depict freedom of the woman from the kitchen. However it is evident even at our homes that a family whose kitchen is managed by a strong woman is always healthy and strong, unlike those managed by cooks. Most men are not capable of managing the kitchen, they may cook but managing is different.
Some aspects shown in the movie as acted by Suraj is not acceptable as a home & family, those that were never practiced even during my grand mother's times. Btw, our ancesters follow a matriarchy system, including for property related matters. What was unacceptable was the overarching focus on Swamy Ayyappa, and as a token to belittle the practices of abstenance during the 41 day vrath. They could've shown status of woman in a muslim family? Why didn't the writter & director showcase that? So, targetting of hindus for wrong reasons is not acceptable.
