Wow, BEST MONSTER MOVIE EVER! Honestly, I saw Pacific Rim, King of the Monsters, King Kong ( Peter Jackson's version), along with Skull Island, and of course the 98 Godzilla, just to name a few classics. This is hands down my favorite, and if you're a fan of the genre, will leave you not only smiling at the end, but also feeling satisfied. Hands down one of my favorite cinematic experiences from the past year, and I honestly am ready to watch it again. This is the best Godzilla movie in the rebooted series, and thankfully they got this one right! A few of the big takeaways, they made the monsters feel like more than, well, monsters. They made you feel for them by helping you to realize that these are sentient creatures that have motives behind what they do. Which translates to you having an emotional attachment to Godzilla and Kong vs simply watching some giant monstrosity topple a city. My favorite part was, of course, the fights. I can not stress this enough, Pacific Rim had it right when it came to the monster movie formula. It's about the stars of the show, and we aren't talking the actors here. It's about the monsters on screen and the interactions they have with each other. More importantly, the fights. FINALLY!!!!! A Godzilla movie has realized that the key is to have the cameras focused on the big guys during those massive action sequences, instead of the humans. Though, there was maybe a few shots here and there, this film focuses heavily on the meat and potatoes of this bad boy of a film. They hit, and I do mean hard. Definitely worth the price of admission for this one, and please, see it on the big screen. That is, if you want to have an experience you'll remember. I give this a big 5 out of 5 Stars! Can't wait to see it again!
